Hi pavlenych, Based on my test, when you run stsadm -o preupgradecheck command, it will temporarily create a new database whose name like tmpdb_preupgradecheck_GUID. But it will be deleted automatically after you finish the command. Since you canceled the command while it was running. In my opinion, this is the root cause. Hope this helps. Rock WangRock Wang MSFT

I have also noticed these dbs are created each time I run the preupgradecheck. I am not cancelling the command, but running it to completion. There are no errors with the operation. Is it safe to delete these databases?
